"The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg, and in the highest vision of the soul, a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities" -James Allen

"So on October 2, the wall was finished just 52 days after we had begun. When our enemies and the surrounding nations heard about it, they were frightened and humiliated. They realized this work had been done with the help of our God." (Nehemiah 6:15ff)

Building the wall started as Daniel's prediction way back in 605 B.C (Danel 9:25). As the order of the day, mixed reactions started ushering in for it was indeed a big project in the eyes of man!

They said it couldn't be done. The job was too big and the hardships were too great. But the scriptures record that the men and women joined together and with the help of God the task was completed in a record of just 52 days.

This big task that came from a mere prediction, faced with great hardships, and registered great success is of great inspiration to us today.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step is a common saying that originated from a Chinese proverb. The proverb requires some form of appropriation and putting facts straight. Big tasks allow us to register great achievements. However, great tasks require great men and women to join together to solve huge problems and accomplish great goals.

The vision that Nehemiah harboured saw him through humble tears in Persia. From a humble background of a Jew, he became a prominent cupbearer in the Kingdom where he had been exiled. The exile looked like a big task and well the road to attaining the prominent position of a cupbearer looked like building a castle in the air.

Nehemiah never at any one time let the size of the task determine the way to his greatness. The size of the task may also not be used to determine the ultimate time to be spent or the challenges that may be encountered. Just keep doing the task and with God's help, it will be done.

Prayer Today: Heavenly Father, I thank you for the opportunity and privilege to be alive today as a living being. I adore your name for your mighty head working miracles in my life and destiny. I thank you for your continued protection and safety concerning me and my household. My Lord, release today your angels into my endeavours to ensure my all-around success in my goals. Expose and destroy every power plotting my failure and downfall. Make my life an epitome of your success and achievement, oh Lord Jesus Christ.  In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
