"Now God had given the chief of staff both respect and affection for Daniel." (Daniel 1:9).
The strong moral conviction of Daniel and his friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego made an impact in the land of the Babylonians. God moved with an unseen hand to change the heart of the Babylonian official into risking to accepting Daniel's practical excuse not to feed on the King's delicacies.
In a series of books psalms 106:46 being one of them, God promises to be with his people in times of trial and temptation. God's active intervention often comes just when we take a stand for him. Of all beatings, imprisonment, a shipwreck and much more for the gospel's sake, Paul remained steadfast and firm in the Lord and so God stood with him.
Paul was complacent that God would deliver him out of every difficulty he faced for the gospel's sake. The story of Shadrach, Meshech, and Abednego, thrown into a fiery furnace (fire) by Nebuchadnezzar for refusing to bow down to the King's image speaks for itself.
Just stand for God and trust him to protect you with His unseen hand.
Prayer Today: Heavenly Father, I thank you that you hold the victory over sin and death in this world. I thank you for the freedom and the hope you bring. Your word says to 'stand our ground' and that's what I will do, in the power of your Name. The enemy has no control over me, and I bring your word of TRUTH as a weapon against the schemes of satan. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I have prayed. Amen.
