"Then King Nebuchadnezzar threw himself down before Daniel and worshipped him... He said to Daniel, " Truly, your God is the greatest of gods, the Lord over kings, a revealer of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this secret." (Daniel 2:46, 47)
No King or even emperor like Nebuchadnezzar has ever thrown himself down before a slave and at the same time worshipped and honored the God of Israel. Just a simple comparison, Nebuchadnezzar's empire was better than that of Russia and that of the USA.
The scripture tells us that Nebuchadnezzar honored Daniel and Daniel's God! I am imagining that if Daniel had claimed that he was able to reveal the King's dream and its interpretation by himself, Nebuchadnezzar would not have honored God as well. But because Daniel recognized God as being the center of his wisdom and power, Nebuchadnezzar honored both Daniel and his God.
Daniel, unreservedly revealed what his God can do! We should realize that part of our purpose in this world is to show unbelievers what God is like and what he can do.
We show unbelievers what God is like and what he can do by exercising acts of love and compassion; after achieving our purpose and giving God his credit, the unbelievers would want to know more about God.
We should always give God thanks for what he is doing in and through us. For God deserves all the honor and thanks.
Prayer Today: Heavenly Father, you are the source of all life, all truth, and all beauty. I pray today with all my heart that you give me the wisdom to know the meaning and purpose of my life so that I participate in making this world a better place, for the glory of your name. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, I have prayed. Amen.
